It is interesting to know the similarities and differences between the wedding today and those from the Renaissance period. The wedding in the Renaissance period was mostly based on the social class of the bride and groom. The ceremonies were held in the chapel or a church. The feasts after the church ceremony were not always immediate but they were wild either way: http://www.renaissance-weddings.net/
The Renaissance feasts were wild and people got involved in them quickly. In contrast to the feasts today, the ceremonies are usually scheduled in a banquet hall and a year or two ahead. A party in the medieval times wouldn’t be itself if it weren’t for the necessary wine. The wedding is celebrated with wine even today because as before, it served to nourish the body, restore health, aid digestion and clarify ideas.
There were many foods which very traditional on a table at the Renaissance wedding but now, the newlyweds do not care much about the importance of food at their table. The traditions and fashion was also different than the today’s but they are the same: http://www.realmcollections.com/p7286/medieval-gothic-wedding-dress.html, http://www.realmcollections.com/p7134/royal-ball-gown.html

It is would be quite vague to see the traditional costumes, the honeymoon being set off for about forty days and being able to marry only with the man/woman of a matching class. I believe the wedding would become much more interesting and wilder than they are now. Is it possible to see these kinds of wedding in the world today?
